Kheris Rogers is a trailblazing entrepreneur, author, and fashion designer; known for breaking barriers and making history as the world’s youngest designer to showcase at New York Fashion Week at just 10 years old. She co-founded Flexin' in My Complexion, a streetwear brand dedicated to celebrating Black culture and empowering individuals of all skin tones. Kheris launched the brand to combat colorism and promote self-love, and it quickly gained traction, receiving support from influential figures like Lupita Nyong’o and Alicia Keys.

Beyond fashion, Kheris is the author of Shine Bright, a children's book that inspires young readers to embrace their uniqueness. Her work has garnered national attention, with features in outlets such as The New York Times and Teen Vogue. She continues to make a significant impact by merging creativity with activism, using her platform to ignite important conversations on diversity and representation.
Most recently, Kheris collaborated with Michelle Obama’s brand, PLEZi, designing a backpack for their Sugar Pack line. This partnership further highlights her ability to merge fashion with advocacy, blending style with a focus on youth health and wellness.
Now a freshman at UCLA, Kheris focuses on leadership, fashion, and activism while continuing to elevate her brand and inspire others. Through Flexin' in My Complexion, her book, and key brand collaborations, she is redefining what it means to be a young Black woman in business. She uses her influence to champion diversity, self-love, and positive change.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is my sister, Taylor, who is also my manager. She’s been my rock from day one, always encouraging me to chase my dreams and reminding me of my worth. Watching her dedication to both her own goals and helping me achieve mine has been a constant source of motivation. She’s taught me the importance of confidence, hard work, and staying true to myself, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her.
Favorite social media platform?
Instagram! It’s such a creative platform where I can share my fashion and advocacy work, connect with my audience, and also draw inspiration from others. I love experimenting with Reels and creating visually engaging content that aligns with my brand.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy working on creative projects, like designing new pieces for Flexin' in My Complexion. I also love spending time with my family and friends, whether it’s trying new recipes or just relaxing at home. Self-care is really important to me, so I make time for that, too—whether it’s a skincare routine or journaling.
Favorite actress/actor?
Zendaya is my favorite actress. I admire how versatile and talented she is, both on-screen and off. She’s also a great role model for young women, showing that you can balance your career with staying authentic and using your platform for good.
Dream movie role?
I’d love to star in a coming-of-age film that celebrates Black girlhood and highlights the experiences of young women of color. Representation in media is so important, and I’d want to bring a role to life that resonates with people and tells an authentic story.
Any exciting new projects?
Yes! I’m currently working on expanding Flexin' in My Complexion with some new designs, including a collection that celebrates self-expression and individuality. I’m also exploring more modeling opportunities, which I’m really excited about because I love being in front of the camera and expressing myself through fashion.
What inspired you to start Flexin' In My Complexion, and how has the journey shaped who you are today?
Flexin’ in My Complexion started as a way to combat colorism after I was bullied for my skin tone at a young age. I wanted to create a brand that celebrates all shades of Black beauty and reminds people to embrace their individuality. The journey has taught me so much about resilience, community, and the power of self-love. It’s also made me realize the importance of using my platform to uplift others and spark change.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve received is to stay true to myself. In an industry where there’s so much pressure to conform, staying authentic has been my guiding light. It reminds me to make decisions that align with my values and not get caught up in what others expect of me.
What does beauty and representation mean to you?
To me, beauty and representation mean seeing yourself reflected in spaces where you’ve been historically excluded. It’s about breaking barriers and challenging the status quo to ensure that everyone feels seen and valued. Beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s diverse, and that diversity should be celebrated.
